Small Bundle

I have a greater appreciation for those Anne Geddes pictures now. It was quite hard to get her out of her warm clothes and, at the last minute, diaper without waking her. We had to make sure she was fed and happy and that the room was warmer than normal. My dad took this picture and we were very proud of ourselves afterward!

Notice how her hands are right up by her face. She must have gotten really used to sucking on them in the womb because that's all she wanted to do with them once she was out. She didn't like those mittens over them very much.

Look at those fingers! They are so long and this picture only does them half justice. Her finger nails are narrow and long too so she looks like she has lady fingers instead of chubby baby digits. Maybe she'll be a hand model some day...

I didn't get to hold her right when she was born, but they brought her to me after she was nice and clean and as soon as she heard my voice she got wide-eyed and turned her head towards me. That is one of the greatest moments in life...looking at your newborn child and seeing that they know and recognize you. It's one of those times when you feel closest to God and most like Him.
