My Twilight Give-A-Way Winner and a word about the crack that is CHOFFY

Today is the day! Happy St. Patrick's Day and happy give-a-way winner day! (As you can see, I started posting this last night and then had something come up and couldn't finish. SO SORRY!!!)

Before I announce the winner, I must tell you about CHOFFY (or what I like to call "pure Twilight in a cup"). It is my newest food obsession. The name kinda sounds like "coffee", huh? It's ground from a bean, has a rich flavor and aroma, brews just like coffee, and can be just as addictive... but in a good way...like the way one is addicted to Twilight.

"CHOFFY is made from the finest organic cacão beans, roasted and ground for a rich full flavored drink. While it brews like coffee and supplies you with long lasting energy, CHOFFY promotes whole body wellness without the negative effects found in other drinks. Naturally loaded with antioxidants and a taste that will make you wonder how you ever did without it, CHOFFY is poised to make a dramatic entrance into your routine." -drinkchoffy.com

Just like my life before Twilight, I totally wonder how I ever got along without this amazing stuff! Basically, you are drinking pure chocolate with the health and crave curbing benefits of chocolate but without all the calories from sugar and fat. For any of you who are watching your weight this is the drink for you! It contains no sugar and is only about 20 calories per cup plus it gives you that boost of energy to start your day right. This is life-saving for me since I tend to be a 2 am freak of the night. And this boost comes from a natural stimulant called Theobroma, which is far better for you than caffeine. To learn more about the health benefits of CHOFFY, go here and here.

One thing I took away from reading all about it -
Theobroma comes from Greek, meaning food of the gods. Which totally makes me think, again, of the our lovely Twilight vampires. ♥

A slight warning for those of you who ARE NOT coffee drinkers - the first time you taste it completely black it is very bitter, just like coffee (or so they say. I've never had coffee, myself), which is confusing to your taste buds because, since it smells divinely like chocolate, you expect it to taste as such. This is not so because it contains no sugar. However, I would recommend adding a few tablespoons of your favorite flavored creamer or an even healthier alternative of some skim milk and a tiny bit of Splenda. To be honest, for me it was an aquired taste but after just about 3 cups I was totally hooked and now I have no idea what I would do without it every morning. I feel better, have more energy, and my craving for sugary chocolate has totally dissappeared!

Plus, if I were to drink pure Edward or Jacob or Jasper....it would be like drinking pure chocolate, no? How did we women ever get along with out them before Twilight? It would be like never knowing what chocolate tastes like...seriously.

There are three different CHOFFY flavors:

Ecuadorian: Classic cocoa taste accented by a light vanilla scent, lovely floral tones including a dominant jasmine note and nutty after tones. It is smooth and sweet with almost no bitterness. My total "Edward in a cup". Who isn't totally nutty for him anyway?

Nicaraguan: Savory, meaty, mouth watering and straight forward. A very pleasant earthy aroma, with very little astringency. Coffee-like aroma and taste with a hint of sweet spice and soft woods. Mouth watering? Sweet spice and soft woods? Would anyone like a "tall drink of Jasper"?

Ivory Coast: Nice depth of flavor with hints of light natural grains, dark spice with little acidity and a classic earthy chocolate flavor. Definitely "cup o' Jacob"...natural, dark and spicey, earthy. Plus the word "coast" makes me think of La Push. I'm truly brain damaged.

I just signed up to be a distributor for CHOFFY (mainly for the discount) and if you click on my CHOFFY label to the right, it will take you to my CHOFFY webpage where you can browse the website or place an order. Please tell them Britten Johnson sent you and if you would like more info about becoming a distributor and you need my distributor number please email me at feyavanya@pacbell.net.

Also, I would like to let you try CHOFFY for free. That's right - I'm doing another give-a-way. There will be three winners chosen this time and each will get 1 2.5 ounce bag of CHOFFY in one of the delicious flavors to try. Here's what you have to do:

If you are a blogger:

Post about CHOFFY on your blog and post a link back to this blog post. Then make a comment under this post.

If you are not a blogger:

Send and email out to at least 5 friends you think would be interested in CHOFFY and include a link to this blog post in the email. Then forward the email to me at feyavanya@pacbell.net.

That's it! The winners will be chosen randomly a week from today!

Now for the winner of last week's Twilight give-a-way. Drumroll please....

The winner is Brittany from AlexanderMonkeyBoy.blogspot.com

Congratulations Brittany!!!! I will be sending out your Edward journal and Twilight Sweethearts tomorrow!

*winner was chosen using Random.org's number generator.

I really wish I could have chosen each and every one of you! You all were so generous with the praise and compliments for my blog and I'm totally overwhelmed!

BUT WAIT!! We all are winners here because TwilightMOMS got an exclusive question to ask Catherine Hardwicke at the signing she did yesterday for her Twilight Director's Notebook. And what do you think we asked? YEP! We asked her what she thinks Edward had in that journal he carries everywhere (we even brought a replica with us) and she told us! Her answer was caught on video and will be posted on the TwilightMOMS blog later today. Stay tuned!!

And thank you to everyone who participated!

Here's a late St. Patty's day Irish jig for you performed by myself, my mom, dad, brother and sister. Enjoy!

Sparkle like a vampire with these Twilight Mom rhinestone tees

Sorry! I told you in the last post I would blog about how to get the rhinestone tees yesterday, but didn't. I was feeling a little under the weather, but am better today although I still have no voice...blah...

So okay...the shirts!!

Some of you were inquiring about the shirts the TwillightMOMS panel wore at the San Francisco Salute to Twilight Convention a few weeks ago. These are shirts made by a wonderful lady named Amy from girlygirlscloset.com. These are not official TwilightMOMS t-shirts but you are perfectly welcome to order them. The text on them is "twilight mom" (no "s"). They are in the movie font with an apple for the "o" in "mom" and sparkle like the animated movie font does. So cool!! We got TONS of compliments on them at the convention.

Look how much my apple shines!

These shirts are from American Apparel and are high quality 100% cotton and must be washed with a non-bleach, mild detergent INSIDE OUT to avoid damaging the stones. Lay flat to dry. They are a TRUE black shirt and should never fade if washed properly. They are a nice, long length, ribbed with a slight stretch. The rhinestones are Swarovski crystals.

Without the flash (so you can see the true black of the shirt)

With the flash - look at that sparkle!

The shirts run two sizes too small so you must order them 2 sizes larger than you normally wear in a fitted tee. So for example, I normally wear a medium but I ordered an x-large. Sounds crazy but don't get hooked up on the size. Believe me, it fit me perfectly....not too tight and not too baggy. ( I'm in the middle of the group picture above.)

They are $30 PLUS S&H and TAX.

You can order them by emailing Amy. Her email address is amy@girlygirlscloset.com Please include your size needed in the email and "Twilight Mom T-shirt" in the subject line. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask her in an email. She is VERY helpful! You can also leave a comment under this post and I will see if I can help.

You will ♥LOVE♥ these shirts!!

Twilight Give-a-way! Edward's Journal and Sweet Treats ♥

This is my first blog give-a-way! Yay!

I've seen this done many times through other blogs and I thought I would give it a whirl. Plus, who doesn't like free stuff? Free Twilight stuff is even better! ♥

I don't think many of you have ever noticed what Edward's journal from the movie looks like, just that he has one. I pointed it out in my minor observations from the movie here.

Here are some pictures:

I also remember it laying on the lounge chair in his bedroom, but I couldn't find a picture...

And if you can find any Biology scene clips on YouTube you can get a better look at it but good luck with that cuz Summitt seems to pull that stuff down FAST!

My friend, Kim (mayfayre), told me they sold the exact same book at Barnes and Noble so I quickly scurried across town to find it and sure enough, they had it! I'm assuming most Twilighters haven't figured this out yet since there was about 4 left on the shelf. They are hand-made in Italy of genuine embossed leather and retail at $29.95.

What do you think would be in Edward's journal? Edward + Bella = True Love? Music he writes? His deepest thoughts from Midnight Sun? Wouldn't we LOVE to know!

After I made my purchase there was only one left and I'm sure now that I've posted about this discovery they will start selling out everywhere. However! I'm offering one as a give-a-way along with a brand new, full set of 3 Twilight conversation hearts boxes, one of each of the variant designs. This is a $36.oo total value!

Just think - you could write down what you think Edward had in his journal and make it your own Twilight souvenir or use it to hold your deepest thoughts about life and love. Whatever you wish! It's a blank slate to start your creativity...

So here is what you need to do to enter this give-a-way:

1.) Subscribe to my blog by clicking on the "Posts" button under "Subscribe to me" at the top of my blog in the right sidebar if you haven't already.

2.) Post a comment under this post. You can post anything you want, it doesn't have to be anything special, but if you aren't already a blogger, please leave me an email so that I can get in touch with you if you win. If you are a blogger - I will then post a comment on your blog if you are the winner.

3.) The winner will be chosen randomly from a hat. ♥

4.) Winner will be announced St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday March 17, 2009.

5.) ***You have until 11:59pm on Monday March 16th 2009 to qualify.***

Good Luck to everyone!

Next up tomorrow....where to find those TwilightMOM rhinestone tees... Stay tuned!

p.s. I've been trying to comment on your comments in the past few posts if you would like to read them. =)

TwilightMOMS pictures in the press! ...and then some...

**Note** Most of this is old news but I had friends and family wanting to see this stuff and they've been waiting a while so I just piled as much as I could in one post.

Below are some various press shots of TwilightMOMS at the LA Premiere of Twilight in November of last year. I can't remember every one's names so if you are in any of these pictures and I don't have you listed, please let me know. =)

I think I was desperately trying to phone AmyO here... LOL!
Sarah (sarahpat), Kara (illumin8), Charlotte (charlottesweb), Kirsten and me
(Jenny and Sarah)

Life and Style - January 5th issue. I love how they spun this article and picture. We look so disgusted (outraged!) about the direction New Moon may take but really this was taken when we were painfully bored standing around waiting hours before the Red Carpet lit up with stars.

myself and another TwilightMOM (I feel horrible for forgetting your name! We only stood there for like 7 hours together *headdesk*)Kirsten and myself behind Rob (People Magazine)...no really...we had our chance to touch Rob and gawk at him. This was taken after he was finished with our section and we were looking down the carpet for the next celeb. You know us, always looking to the future. LOL!

I also have to add that these were our two correspondents from TwilightMOMS and our sister site, TwilightTEENS, on the red carpet - Georiga (*gypsy wings*) and Sara.

The following Twilight Live pictures were taken by the lovely *gypsy wings* at the podcast at Borders the day before the premier. That's me with NoMoreMarbles (Bailey) and TwilightGuy (Kaleb). We were on a quick panel and answered a few questions after the actors finished their panel.

Becky Scoggins from TwiCon and myself

Kallie and Kassie from Twilight Series Theories. They were the M.C.s for the podcast. Aren't they too cute?

Michael Welch

Larry Made-of-Awesome Carroll from Mtv. I was tickled pink that he thought my question for Rob was a good one. I think if I remember correctly, he said, "Oooooooh, that IS a good question! I might have to steal it!"

Me getting really excited about the aforementioned question...

Jackson

Twilight Music Girls. They rocked the house!

Peter is so cool. No really....he brought his 3 adorable daughters to the podcast and they were sitting inches from my feet. As a mom, I was so relieved to see that even though they are children of two celebrity parents, their hair wasn't perfect and their clothes, though very cute, were a little disheveled. Perhaps daddy was in charge of getting them dressed that morning? LOL! But seriously, they looked like down-to-earth, play hard all day kids that are loved and cherished to the extreme and this I love to see. What a breath of fresh air!

With all my encounters with this man, he seems like the type of guy that would live by Carlisle's motto: "Remember who you are." Now THESE are the types of celebrities I LOVE to CELEBRATE!

One of my favorite pictures from the premier...just look at the way he looks at her. *dies*

Solomon, Jackson and Mike.

To witness this podcast in person was so awesome! The quick panel was sitting a little below and to the left of Mike so whenever he would speak, Jackson would turn and look at him and I had the best shot of his face in the house! *starry-eyed*

Plus, all of them were so funny together. If you have the time, you really should listen to the Twilight Live podcast. You can find it here. My few parts come in towards the end...I think....around the 40-50-60 minute marks. But the whole thing is good and Kallie and Kassie are just so cute with their southern accents. =)

Next up in new Twilight goodies....

Found this animated avatar on TMs and just had to share!!

Who needs to wait for the movie when you have that little gem....

Also,if you missed these (actually, if you have you must be living under a rock because they are everywhere by now - no offense =) I need to share as well. They are NOT the real New Moon posters but are manipulations made by a Live Journal user named smirks_works.
Aren't they gut-wrenching fabulous???

Twilight related music tips:

Two really good songs a friend, Kim (mayfayre), recommended to me recently are:

"Comatose" by Skillet (New Moon-ish song)
"I'd Come for You" by Nickelback (Eclipse-ish song)

I always love a good music tip. *♪♫♪*

Remember, if you haven't checked them out yet, we have featured Twilight related music artists either I have spoken with directly or we have chatted with on our forums in our Current Featured Music Artist section. So far we have Dexter Freebish, Kate Meyers, and Ben Jorgensen from Armor For Sleep! Many more to come....

In need of some radical and unique Twilight merchandise that isn't from Hot Topic? Check out our Vendor of the Month section of TwilightMOMS and our Vampire Apparel and Decor section. We are THE place for Twilight Vendors!

Come read our interviews with spotlighted TwilightMOMS each month. We have such an extraordinary group of women!!! All so unique and talented and just plain awesome! I love getting to know them better. ♥

We also feature honorable charities each month. This past month we announced our official charity, Alex's Lemonade Stand. The graphic was a blessing of a vision I had while reading about little Alex and her lemonade stands. God rest your soul, my little friend. =) My dad took the picture of my hands for the graphic and Kirsten added the text. You can view it on my right sidebar and click on it to donate. There is also the HTML code below if you would like to add it to your blog/website. We will be posting more graphic options for this in the next week or so in the spotlight forum so stay tuned...

The 4 graphics above are new buttons on the spotlight sub-page on TwilightMOMS.com. We're going for that 1950s Stepford wife look (which is ironic because that is so NOT what we are) with Anne Taintor style sarcasm minus the edge. =)

Phew! I think that's it for now.... next up tomorrow will be my Sweet Twilight give-a-way. ♥♥♥

*night night*..•*•..

San Francisco Salute to Twilight Convention

Two weekends ago I attended the Salute to Twilight Convention in San Francisco. It was an awesome adventure!

The first Q&A was with the two dads of Twilight: Billy Burke and Peter Facinelli. They were a hoot and a half and played so well off each other. Billy has not read any of the books and Peter kept giving him a hard time about it. I didn't realize how much of a comedian Peter could be. Billy spoke a little about his baby girl and when he did his eyes just lit up. You can tell he loves and adores her completely!

Peter also gave us a little Twilight treat - he was asked by one of our own TwilightMOMS, Emilina, what he whispered to Robert in the flashback scene when Carlisle is about to change a dying Edward and this was his answer...

Thanks so much to Emilina for asking such a great question!

Two of my favorite pictures taken of them during the Q&A:

We then got autographs from Billy and Peter. Peter likes to sign his name with lots of hearts. ♥♥♥

Next was a nice dinner break across the street at CPK.

Kim (mayfayre), ~kirsten~, Tierza (4theloveofit), Jess (jessbeck) and I

Jess (jessbeck) and I

That night we attended the Welcome Ceremony. Peter and Billy hosted and a new group called Goodnight Juliet performed and gave away free signed CDs. They had a Twilight song that totally rocked! I really loved their sound and style. The lead singer was gorgeous! Expect to see more of them in the future.

Next to take the stage was Mike Welch who did a few karaoke songs, once of which was "Bohemian Rhapsody" and it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen! He was rolling around on the floor...it was awesome.

YouTube vid of it posted by Jazzy67962:

After that The Bella Cullen Project performed. I had never heard their music before. They had some quirky songs about Twilight and great voices.

That night we went to our room, snacked on chocolate, crackers and other goodies and then fell asleep while dreamily gazing out our 36th floor suite, floor-to-ceiling view of S.F.

The next morning we had to rise and shine because 7 of us were going to be on a TwilightMOM panel. The theme was "How has Twilight changed your life?" and we each took a different question to answer. Yours truly was the M.C. Our talking points:

How did your Twilight obsession start?
Why are older women attracted to Twilight?
What other fandoms had you been a part of before?
What made you choose TwilightMOMS over all the other fansites out there?
What does Twilight mean to you as a book you can share with your children or students?
Have you had any brushes with greatness i.e. actors, Stephenie, etc.?
How has being a part of the Twilight fandom changed your life?
How has being a part of TwilightMOMS changed your life?

Sheryl (hobie)

Jessica (jessbeck)

Tierza (4theloveofit)

Mary (Calicat)

Kara (illumin8)

Kim (mayfayre)

Afterward, the manager of the convention said he was very impressed with our presentation and organization and that he would like a TwilightMOMS panel at each of the Salute to Twilight cons this year!

I was so happy my heart was aglow!

After the panel I visited the vendor room where I just had to buy a t-shirt that said, "...Then Buffy staked Edward. The End." Bwahahaha!

I also purchased lots of fun, yummy smelly things from Essence of Twilight. You can find their website here: http://essenceoftwilight.com/ or their Etsy store here: http://essenceoftwilight.etsy.com . I got the Wedding set and the Forks and La Push room/linen sprays. Lovely items sold by some lovely women!

Then I was approached by a new fansite called Twilightfangers and they wanted to interview me. I had no idea it was already up on YouTube, but anyway, here is the video. I was so surprised I didn't end up sounding like a blubbering fool...

Next up was a Q&A with Michael Welch and Christian Serratos. Someone got Mike to do his butt dance from Twilight:

and apparently there was a prom scene that the humans practiced for but never shot for the movie so they showed off some of their moves they had made up for it:

The next Q&A was with cutie patootie Kellan Lutz. He was a great sport even though tons of girls and women were yelling things out to him during his interview and someone gave him something that is not worth mentioning here but very obscene. He said his mommy would get mad at him if he took it from her. Good man. He also mentioned this really sad story from his childhood about his dog getting hit by a car. He even got a little choked up.

He also did an impression of Rob's run:

That night was the 100 Monkeys concert. For those of you who have never heard of them, they are Jackson Rathbone's band. They so totally rocked! Everyone couldn't help but get down and boogie to their tunes. And there was a cool guy dressed in a giant banana suit who handed out candy to the crowd while dancing with and weaving in and out of us. It was a bouncing, happy time!

All of the following pictures of the band are credited to Ana (smittenc) from TwilightMOMS. I just love how they turned out with the coloring of the forest backdrop and the lightning in the background. Very cool photography. Thank you Ana!

Jackson on keyboard and Jerad on base

That intensity Jackson radiates as he is really getting into the groove ...

Uncle Larry on the flute

Ben on guitar

Jackson on guitar

That cute smile

Funky

Isn't he adorable?

When he sings he looks straight into your soul and leaves you burning ♥♥♥

Ben with his monkey hat

Jackson with his cool shades and monkey hat

Again with the monkey hat that my Kirsten had in her hands when he threw it out to the crowd but was snatched out of by some teenyboppers. Grrrr....

Jackson singing with Marty the Giant Banana!

100 Monkeys Myspace

* as you can tell I have a thing for musicians. Always did growing up only I didn't marry one...go figure. Maybe this is why I still have a thing for musicians. Hahahha

Shortly after the concert was the Vampire Ball. During the break before it started we went to the posh little lounge in the hotel. Everyone had me get on top of the round seat in the middle of the room because they said I coordinated. =)

Here is my Steam punk style gown from SonicPlayer:

Tierza, Kirsten, Kim and I

I love this one!

Walking into the ball we were certainly a site to see because 1.) we were fashionably late, 2.)we look like a group of hot Volturi Vamps complete with decked out hair, makeup, and capes and some of us with red eyes and vampire teeth and 3.) we are also MILFs or MILBs (Moms I'd Like to Fork/Moms I'd Like to Bite - we won't go there on the REAL meaning of that phrase...you know.... for the faint of heart), if I do say so myself. Yes, I say so!

Myself, Odette(ODC), Amber(Dancing Queen), Kirsten and Kim(mayfayre)

Kirsten as a member of the Volturi and Kim with her Jessica Rabbit look

Sheryl(hobie) and her entourage. These gals had the coolest makeup and hair! Feathers, rhinestones, sea shells, rocks and sand and butterflies were stuck all over them. You have to click on the picture to see the detail...

Kara - isn't she a doll?

Dette and Jess - sexy vamps

Myself with Mary, Tierza and Kara

Even the Hillywood Twilight Parody Folk were dressed in their best.

Ya'll gotta check out their Twilight Parody. It is very cute and has some great editing.

Kellan, Mike and Christian showed up for the ball and went around to all the tables. Kellan gave everyone bear hugs (and even growled for a few of us) and Mike and Christian sat down at every table and chatted away. Now wasn't that just too darn cool of them?

After gettin' down and groovy on the dance floor, especially to my current #1 dance pick "disturbia" by Rihanna (such the perfect vamp song - am I right?), we took more pictures and then I had this adventurous idea to walk over to the Catholic Cathedral behind the Westin (in the pouring rain) and take some truly wicked pictures of us in our get-up amongst the cool architecture. We chickened out and took a cab so that we wouldn't be ruined for the pictures, but when we got there the doors were locked. They must have known vampires were coming. What? We weren't welcome in a church?? How dare they! LOL!

So we had to settle for the gothic arches and doors on the outside:

Hiding out from the rain

Mary

We trudged back in the rain and got locked out of the back of the hotel but finally made it around to the front again with REALLY sore feet. We thought we would make some good use of the cool black and white Harlequin floor in the lobby before we went up to the room. Why waste a good dress, right?

Just have to show off my cool pirate bow from Cutie Dynamite on Etsy, my necklace from Archeress Arts on Etsy and socks from Sock Dreams.com in Portland.

Had to get the "Georgia Lips" pic in there too.

Then we ordered pizza at 3am and watched Twilight, which you could order from the hotel. =) What a perfect night!

The next morning we went down to the main conference room for Rachelle LaFevre's Q&A. I can't even describe how beautiful and poised and eloquent she is. Many people went up to the mic and told her so and she was just so gracious and humbled by it. She definitely knows what she wants in life, loves her family and is one of those actors who I know will stay true to herself no matter what and not let Hollywood take anything from her beautiful spirit.

Just look at that hair! It is to die for...

Isn't she just a knock-out?

Next up for a Q&A was the super vamp power married duo of Jasper and Alice aka Jackson and Ashley. They were super cute and cuddly, as always, and gave us another twirl just like in the Forks High cafeteria:

They just make me smile =)

Could a woman be any more beautiful than Ashley? I don't think it's possible. (and totally not fair!)

Someone asked Jackson if he had a happy dance:

video by HalfricanNerd

Jackson's impression of Rob running:

video by anniesue03

After the Q&A we stood in line for photos with Jackson. Kirsten and I wanted him to have a MILB sandwich =)

Then it was off to get Rachelle's, Jackson's and Ashley's signatures. I had Ashley sign my Twilight book where Alice finally meets Bella, Rachelle signed where Victoria was introduced during the baseball scene and Jackson signed at the end of chapter 19. ;-)

All in all, we didn't want to leave for all the fun reasons above but mostly because of the company of fellow TwilightMOMS in our group. These ladies are fantastic, make great roomies and really know how to party.

Thanks gals!

And thank you to Creation for a fabulous event!

-Britten

p.s. Stay tuned this week for a special Twilight contest on my blog to win something very sweet. =)
