TWILIGHT/MTV MANIA!!!!

Umkay....so scratch all that stuff I was going to post about for now. I just have to blog about this first because it is THE FREAKING COOLEST THING EVAHHH!!! Next to the actual movie coming out, that is....

First off, I am heavy into my busy season for Broadway right now so if you call or email me you may not hear from me for awhile. Sorry - it is not because I don't like you or don't enjoy conversing. I just want to give you my undivided attention and I can only concentrate on so many things at once. Yes, I know - it is a flaw of mine.

Next I would like to say that I have also been deep into TwilightMOMS. And when I say deep, I'm talking Abyss-type deepage. I'm a Lead Volturi Mom (moderator) and I help approve and activate new members. This can be a full-time job in and of itself because in the short 5-6 months we have been an active forum we are now over 4,000 members strong with new members (we call them "Newborns" - just read the books, okay?) signing up every day! I'm also in charge of our Spotlight of the Month forum. I love being a part of it all! Our site is the lead fansite for all Twilight-related news, so yeah....we do indeed rule the world!! I'm "EndlessTwilight" over there, btw.

I have made incredible friends at TwilightMOMS!! One of which lives here in Fresno so it has been fun getting to know her and find out how much we have in common. We both agree we must have been separated at birth. She is a movie freak just like me!! We both have almost the exact same taste in everything, including the same personality traits. Plus we found out Andy and her husband already knew each other through an online forum called Armorama. Hmm - yes, Jim actually owns the site! We were both floored to find that out....

So last week I was privileged to be invited to tour some of the sites for the sets of the movie Twilight being filmed right this minute in and around Portland, OR. Our TMIs (Stands for TwilightMOM Insiders - they live around Portland and try to find out as much as they can about the filming of Twilight) invited Kirsten and I. I hadn't been to Portland since I was 4 years old so I was eager to experience the green forests and the rain all over again!!

We were privileged to be invited by the owners for a stay at the historic View Point Inn for our first night in Portland - which happens to be where they would be filming the Prom scenes for the movie the following week. This place was heavenly and the service was second to none -the kind that anticipates your every desire without being overbearing in the least bit. I even snuck down to the main dining/sitting area after everyone was asleep to do a little reading of the prom scene from the book right in the spot they were going to film it. It was surreal!! More on my trip in a later post....

In a nut shell though, I also got to see Multnomah Falls, the Baseball Field, some mossy cliffs and caves, the Marina, the Greenhouses, the Warehouses, the Carver Cafe and the Papermill - most of which are all locations seen in this MTV exclusive behind-the-scenes/meet the cast video!!! I even got a little peek at the director, Catherine Hardwick (Lords of Dogtown, Thirteen, and The Nativity), whom I greatly admire! OMEEEEEE!!! (TwilightMOM speak for Oh, My Edward!!) If you haven't yet read Twilight - this should make you want to RIGHT NOW and if you have read Twilight - this will make you UBER EXCITED for the movie. Even so, you will know what I'm talking about when I describe my trip to Portland in my next post. Plus, every Tuesday is Twilight Tuesday over at the MTV blog so don't forget to check it every week!

Here's a sneak peek at Edward from the video:

So have some VAMPTASTIC fun and watch it HERE! I heart Larry at MTV! Thank you! You rock!

Oh! And we TwilightMOMS have had the privilege of interviewing some of the cast including Rachelle LeFerve (Victoria), Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and Ashley Greene (Alice), Edi Gathegi (Laurent) and Justin Chon (Eric). It truly blows my mind to think that I've chatted with some of these actors! They were extremely fun and cool with us! I think the cast kinda digs that we moms can be cool too. ;) Even Stephenie Meyer has joined our site and answered some of our deep questions. She LOVES us because she is a TwilightMOM herself! Everything is up on the site for your reading pleasure...

Ciao for now!

Dream On

Quick Update:

I am in LOVE with Kelly Sweet's cover of "Dream On". SO ethereal! Goes perfectly with my "Dreaming of Forks" theme too. It's playing now on my new playlist. :D

Also, I changed my "My Religion" link to something a little more visual and entertaining for anyone not LDS. If you have ever clicked on it before you will see what I mean ;)

I also added my 2 new favorite places: TwilightMOMS and Etsy.

New posts coming soon: The Christmas Faerie Goes Pro, My shop with Kim, and Ari's 2nd B-day with pics.

I Refuse To Be A House's Wife

If you want a really good laugh (and total relief and validation for the mess you live in) go read this HILAROIUS blog Mormon Mommy Wars. I scored a 20!!!! *Woot* and just peed a little from all the laughter.

Really, who came up with the term "Housewife" anyway? I'm my husband's wife and when he is feeling well, which has been rare these last 6 months, as long as he has clean underwear he doesn't mind my excessive slothfulness that occurs while I'm, not only surfing the net, but deep-sea diving through all my obsessions online: Twilight sites, Star Wars sites, friends from those sites blogs and live journals, other friends sites, my myspace and friends on myspace, my online store (still in the works) and 2 blogs (1 in the works), book sites, craft sites, stores, music, fan fiction and my own writing, emails, and more....

And I go through spurts. I'm a very dichotimous thinker - it's all or nothing for me. When I get on the web or even just the computer it's for weeks and weeks until I've had my fix of online happyland. Then I will look behind me at all that's transpired during that time, get really stressed out and then dive into cleaning and oraganizing and about 15 loads of laundry, and oh, yeah....I have kids? Whoops!
This is why you will notice great, big, black holes in my online correspondence. But my New Year's Resolution is to be more consistent so that I don't have to read through pages and pages I've missed to merely catch up on only one site or blog just so that I can post my comments. That really sucks, but I can't NOT do it. Out of love for my friends and remember my dichotomy...

I'm so lucky to have a husband who understands this.

Endless Twilight

Last month I finished reading Eclipse, the third book in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. I am not only obsessed with these books, I'm POSSESSED!!!

Here's how it all got started:

My friend Kim and I are hopeless romantics. We just LOVE all the same types of things. I'd heard about the Twilight series by another friend, Jessica (who, again, is another romantic) but was trying to finish some other books I'd started so I thought that I might delve into the series later. However, my friend Kim called me one day ECSTATIC telling me to get on Amazon RIGHT NOW and order all three books!!! So as I was accessing the site she read to me the meadow scene from Twilight. And it goes a little something like this:

Wait, let me first set this up - Edward is a forever 17-year-old vampire. Bella is a 17-year-old human girl. They like each other, she knows he's a vampire, but she also knows he's a little dangerous because he craves her blood more than any other he's ever come into contact with in all his 90+ years as a vampire. Mrs. Meyers vampires don't burst into flames under the sun, in fact all those legends about the garlic and holy water are just merely rumors in her world. Edward is beautiful, a vegetarian vampire (meaning he only drinks animal blood), and very romantic. This scene is when Bella (the narrorator) first sees Edward in the sun...

"Edward in the sunlight was shocking. I couldn't get used to it, though I'd been staring at him all afternoon. His skin, white despite the faint flush from yesterday's hunting trip, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface. He lay perfectly still in the grass, his shirt open over his sculpted, incandescent chest, his scintillating arms bare. His glistening, pale lavendar lids were shut, though of course he didn't sleep. A perfect statue, carved in some unknown stone, smooth like marble, glittering like crystal."

With THAT FIRST PARAGRAPH IN THAT CHAPTER I WAS HOOKED!!!! A gorgeous god of a VAMPIRE lying in a meadow with a girl and SPARKLING LIKE DIAMONDS?? WHOO-HA-HA!!!!

That was it.

The fat lady sang.

And I've been singing choir in the church of Twilight ever since! I read all 3 books in a week flat and have spent most of the last month downloading songs, youtube vids, pictures, rereading, and spending my time on Twilight Moms (a myspace group and now a website).
And our theory on vampires sparkling in the sun? They are reflecting it!

Above is my little Halloween shrine to Twilight - complete with miniature vampire gargoyles and bat lantern. Mom calls it "The Alter".

You see, after you visit http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/ you will be hooked too! She has a music playlist of songs that inspired each book, and if you go to "Twilight Series" and then "Movie News" you can see all the actors Stephenie sees as her characters, although, sadley, she does not have any say in who plays who in the movie. Movie will be up in either 2009 or 2010, shooting begins this February.

The story is set in the real-life town of Forks, WA, which is the one place in the U.S. that gets the most rain - convenient place for vampires, who would attract too much attention in the sun, to live. The rain forests in this place are soooo ethereal looking - I had no idea places like this existed in the U.S.!!

This is where the vampires roam -

I love it and now have Forks, WA in the top 5 places on earth I will visit someday.

So Stephenie Meyer's number one pick for Edward is Henry Cavill so I made a little remix full of pics of him from his different movies and photo shoots and why each pic is soooooo Edward Cullen. Plus he sorta looks like my Andy when he was young :9

Enjoy!

My good friend Heather who I've known for years is the celebrity gossip blogger for the Fresno Bee. My kids have always called her "Feather". She is Hil-a-rious!!!

Go check her out. It's her 1 year anniverary of blogging for the bee and doing what she does best - making everyone laugh!

Oh! The cleverness of you, Feather! Love you!

Halloween Party

So we had a little Halloween party for my church friends from my old ward. Here's the pics of it and the pumpkin patch in a little slide show:

Sorry a few people's heads got cut off and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. But hey, cute background, huh?

Pottery Barn Can Stick It

While I love its plethora of design ideas and classic appeal, Pottery Barn lacks the quaint coziness and character of a room that I desire. I mean, lets just get real people - If your house constantly could pass for a Stepford Wife model home, there's something very wrong with you. See my boycott of conformity evident in my new chalkboard labels from said store:

Halloween Night is Approaching...

The Mantle

I have fake tealights in all the milk glass. They have a real eerie glow to them with the lights off.
